The FAA published a detailed Advisory Circular AC 91-92, which covers everything (including: preflight self-briefings, planning, weather interpretation, risk management/mitigation) to be considered before taking flight. AC 91-92 is not 100% officially binding/required before each flight (and is more around guidance/suggestions) but the FAA reminds us that, “Each pilot in command shall, before beginning a flight, become familiar with all available information concerning that flight.” This is useful review material to process into a series of blog posts. The main category will be “Preflight Briefing”.
