Pilots are frequently associated with being “Weather Geeks”.
I’ve found that traditional book-learning (aside from the basics) doesn’t work for my learning about weather, as I’m more associative. In this website, my strategy is to discuss current weather events that affect me locally, discuss the various components within them, and not worry about capturing 100% of the details. The next weather system is right behind it, and information begins recurring. I’ve found there are several ways of describing the same thing – for example, Warm Front. What’ great are the multiple sources of weather information, interpretations and amazing graphics.
As I live in Central Coast California, I’m going to start digging through this site first.
